A 28-year-old patient dies of Covid-19

A male patient, in Quang Nam, on the morning of August 29, died with a diagnosis of Covid-19 pneumonia, complications of septic shock, and irreversible multi-organ failure on the basis of serious illness.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that “patient 996”, 28, was the 31st case of death from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic. The patient has a history of acute lymphocytic leukemia and myelosuppression.

The patient died at Da Nang Lung Hospital. The cause of death was diagnosed with Covid-19 pneumonia, complications of septic shock, irreversible multi-organ failure in patients with acute lymphoid leukemia, and myelosuppression of three cell lines.

This is the youngest death case from Covid-19. The remaining deaths occurred between the ages of 33 and 93, of which 19 had underlying chronic kidney failure. Two people died after having three to four negative tests.

As of this afternoon, the total number of infections is 1,038, the number of people recovered from the disease is 663, the number of deaths from Covid-19 is 31, two people die after three or four negative tests.

Of the patients undergoing treatment, 46 had tested negative for nCoV once, 49 were negative a second time, and 29 were negative a third time.

15 cases were serious in the total of patients under treatment, of which three cases required invasive ventilation, three cases required ECMO intervention (artificial cardiopulmonary system). Prognostic 6 cases can be fatal.

Hoa Vang Field Hospital is the place to treat most patients with 85 cases; Da Nang Lung Hospital 78 cases; Quang Nam Central General Hospital 56.
