When a new case of infection appears, the Bluezone application will quickly identify and notify close contacts of the risk of Covid-19 infection.

On April 18, in Hanoi, in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, the Ministry of Information and Communications (Ministry of Information and Communications) and the Ministry of Health have just launched the Bluezone application. This is one of the solutions developed by Vietnamese tech companies to protect the community and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

Covid-19 Suspicious Suspicious Tracking Request

According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Director of the Computerization Department (MIC), Bluezone is the application of Bluetooth technology to identify safe areas.

The goal of the Covid-19 epidemic is to find the fastest, most accurate, and least expensive way to identify infected people. This can only be resolved through technology.

Bluezone is the solution to apply Bluetooth BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) location technology. Bluezone installed smartphones can communicate with each other at a distance of 2m, recording close contact, when and for how long.

This is the latest technology to help control close contacts. In finding positive cases of F0, instead of isolating thousands of people, we only need to isolate a few dozen people, said Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung.

This idea in Vietnam was formed early, almost at the same time with many countries around the world. The result is the introduction of the Bluezone application. Although Vietnam is not the first country to introduce this solution, Vietnamese software has basically solved cases of omission or optimal operation that similar software previously had.

This product is an intellectual gathering of many development groups of Vietnamese digital technology companies, including Memozone, VNPT, MobiFone and BKAV.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung – Director of the Computerization Department (Ministry of Information and Communications).

According to Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang, CEO of Bkav, Bluezone’s development unit, users should join the Bluezone community by installing the app.

During daily activities, when people have contact, the application on your phone will “talk” to itself. If it detects close contact (within 2m), the device automatically recorded in the diary.

If a person is infected with Covid-19 (F0), the infected person’s data will be entered into the system and then transferred to all devices in use.

The Bluezone application on the device will compare the F0 data with the previously recorded contact history. If the device has been exposed to F0 for long enough, the system will notify the user about the possible risk of infection (F1).

Bluezone can even provide specific details of when and how much you were exposed to F0. The app will also provide contact with the relevant health authorities and recommend users to contact for guidance and assistance.

When authorities receive F1 data, they will continue to enter the system to alert the next F quickly and accurately.

Bluezone’s philosophy is to allow users to protect themselves and then protect the community. Its users will know immediately that when F0 is available, be it in F2, F3, F4, … or not. When users connect to the system, this network is large enough to protect the community.

The application only stores data on the user’s computer, it is absolutely not published on the server. Only when the user is identified as F0, the data is entered and then deleted. At that time, the user was informed that F1 will automatically load the data to protect the community.

According to Nguyen Tu Quang, this app does not collect location. Bluezone only records how long and when they met, not knowing where they met. Bluezone users will also remain anonymous using the ID that the system generated. Furthermore, Bluezone developers will also be transparent by providing open source.

The Bluezone application will play an important role in identifying people suspected of being Covid-19.

In Singapore, more than 1 million people (20% of the population) have similar applications installed. Global experience shows that if the number of applications is installed in 60% of the adult population, the optimal rate will be reached.

According to the estimation of the Computerization Department, if 30 million Vietnamese install Bluezone, our country will reach the optimal rate for the early detection of close contact with infected people.

Therefore, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications will sponsor Bluezone software, encourage all citizens to use it to protect themselves and the community, and join efforts to combat the epidemic.

In the next few days, after App Store and Google Play bring Bluezone to their system, users can install this app. Those who want to experiment immediately can still download the app through the invitation program to use on the bluezone.vn website.

Bluezone is a breakthrough in Covid-19 prevention

Sharing at the launch of Bluezone, the Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Manh Hung, stated, the birth of Bluezone is an innovative new step in using technology to prevent epidemics.

“Advance on that, this software will be global, it will be placed in open source so that countries, companies, big technology companies like Apple and Google can develop together and allow people. Can I monitor if the software I am using is safe?” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said.
