On the afternoon of December 8, the Xuyen Moc district police (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) were taking testimony from two subjects, Tran Anh Tuan (SN 1987), Tran Van Tin (SN 1990), directly participating in his arrest. TQV (SN 1971, living in Hoa Hiep commune, Xuyen Moc district) demanded a 4.5 billion ransom.
Furthermore, 3 other subjects, including Duy, Cao and Tuan, who are involved in the custody of the victims in a coffee field in Lam Dong province, were also arrested for their investigation.
The investigating agency continues to urgently search for the whereabouts of the remaining 4 subjects, who were directly involved in the arrest of Mr. V. in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

Through the victim’s testimony that Mr. TQV, on the morning of December 5, the target group of 6 people took a car to the Hoa Hiep commune and contacted him to buy coconuts in large quantities. After luring Mr. V. to the coconut garden, around 12:30 am on the same day, taking advantage of the secluded place, this group covered his eyes, tied his hands and forced Mr. V. to take him to the car.
The subjects moved to the Dinh Quan (Dong Nai) district, then detained, then took the victim to Lam Dong, hired a person for coffee with a hut available, and sent 2 other people to care. In the cabin, this group gave food and treatment to Mr. V.

The subjects involved in the kidnapping contacted Mr. V’s wife to request the transfer of VND 4.5 billion before releasing him. Family members of Mr. V quickly reported the incident to the police.
Through the process of gathering evidence and witnesses, on December 7, the police arrested Tuan and Tin in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. Based on the testimony of these two subjects, the police continued to arrest 3 other subjects in Lam Dong province and rescue Mr. V.
An investigator said that through a preliminary understanding, the purpose of this group is aimed at money, but the police are still investigating the case.
