The girl was blown into the sky by the tail of a kite in the strong wind in northern Taiwan (China). The girl fluttered in the air as the crowd panicked and screamed.

A 3-year-old girl was blown into the sky by a large kite in the strong wind at Nam Lieu Harbor, Hsinchu City, on August 30, reported Taiwan News.

The 2020 International Kite Festival opened in Hsinchu over the weekend. This is the northeast part of Taiwan known for its strong winds. The case of a girl who was blown into the sky by a kite occurred on the afternoon of August 30 when a kite with a long tail suddenly flew due to a sudden gust of wind.

The 3-year-old girl in the incident identifies with the surname Lin. Baby Lin’s abdomen got caught in the tail of a kite and was immediately lifted up by the large kite.

Images of an incident involving a girl in Taiwan and shared on social media showed that the girl appeared to stagger violently in the sky for a few seconds before someone dragged the kite to the ground. A group of people were waiting to pick up the girl when she fell. The scene was filled with loud screams.

Taiwan News said the girl had only a slight scratch on her face and neck. The little girl is known to go to the kite festival with her mother. After the incident, the mother and baby were immediately taken to the hospital by the organizers.

The Hsinchu city government immediately halted the kite festival after an incident involving a 3-year-old girl. The city’s mayor, Lin Chih-chien, apologized via Facebook. He added that the authorities will begin to investigate the case to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future.

Ms Chen Ko-fang, general secretary of the Taiwan-based Asian Kite Forum, said the kite is said to carry candy so that when it flies, it will spread them from the sky to the children. Children often stay at long distances, he says, until a kite flies into the sky, but sudden strong winds have occurred.
