At 10:40 a.m. on December 19, Maritime Police 6007 (Marine Police Area 3 High Command) brought 11 crew members from the ship Xin Hong to the port of the Regional Center for Coordination of Marine Search and Rescue 3 (Center 3) in Vung Tau.
To prevent the COVID-19 epidemic, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province took samples for these 11 people right at the pier. Sampling sanitation workers are fully outfitted with special clothing and badges when in contact with crew members.
Other related people and journalists work remotely. Immediately after the sampling was completed, these 11 people were taken to isolation and concentrated in the city of Ba Ria.

After having the test results of the remaining 11 crew members (approximately 6 hours), the new authorities decided the next steps for the two bodies mentioned above.
Previously, on the afternoon of December 17, the boat Xin Hong (Panamanian nationality) carrying 7,800 tons of clay was heading from Malaysia to Taiwan, it had a problem, so it headed to the island of Phu Quy (Binh Thuan) to get over it. But due to bad weather, the ship tipped over and sank. At the time of the accident, there were 15 crew members on board, including 11 Chinese and 4 Vietnamese.

During the rescue process, the functional forces saved 11 people, including 3 Vietnamese and 2 Chinese bodies. Two people are still missing. CAuthorities continued to mobilize vehicles and personnel to search for these two people despite the bad weather conditions.
