This afternoon (September 18), Typhoon No. 5 made landfall in Quang Binh to Thua Thien – Hue provinces and weakened into a tropical depression.

According to a quick report from the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Natural Disasters, the initial damage caused by Typhoon No. 5 resulted in a death in Thua Thien – Hue due to a falling tree.
In addition, 23 other people were injured, including 2 seriously injured. More than 1,600 houses blew off their roofs, many trees broke and fell, many electric poles were broken, power lines were cut, the entire city was cut off before the storm came in, many communication lines were cut.
In Quang Binh province, 6 people were also injured while fighting against houses, cutting down trees and falling.
In Quang Tri, Ha Tinh and other localities, the water overflowed with bridges, many houses blew off their roofs, local authorities are urgently directing to overcome the consequences.
