Utah reported 259 more covid-19 cases, 1 death, 2K vaccinations on Monday



SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Covid-19 cases rose to 259 on Monday, with one more death and 2,087 vaccinations, according to the Utah Health Department.

The state now estimates that there are 13,707 active cases of the disease in Utah. According to the health department, the average number of positive cases in seven days is 511. The positive test rate per day is now 9% for those periods registered with the “people over people” method. The seven-day average positive test rate calculated by the “test over test” method is now 4.4%.

State data show that currently 193 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in Utah, including 74 intensive care units. Ut Taha now occupies all the intensive care unit beds, including about 71% ICU beds in 16 referral hospitals in the state. According to state statistics, about 50% of non-ICU hospital beds have been occupied.

A total of 857,750 vaccines have been given in the state, up from 855,663 since Sunday. A total of 556,791 people have received at least one vaccine dose, while 310,327 are now fully vaccinated, according to the health department. A total of 1,006,315 vaccine doses have now been shipped to Utah.

The new numbers indicate a 0.07% increase in positive cases since Sunday. In Utah, 2,251,204 people have tested positive for COVID-19 so far, with 16.7% testing positive for COVID-19. The total number of tests taken since the onset of the epidemic now stands at 3,917,828, an increase of 5,530 since Sunday. Of those, 3,083 were tested who had not previously been tested for COVID-19, according to the health department.
