USMNT Talent Destab Alba Supports Future Barcelona Star

Jordi Alba says Sergino Dest could become a Barcelona star after the young defender scored his first goal for the club.

The United States international team started the score for Blagrana against Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday, as Ronald Koeman’s team won comfortably 4-0 in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Dest defended strongly and Dynamo caught the eye going forward with four touches and six crosses inside the penalty area – more than any other player.

The 20-year-old right-back goal also got a marvelous relief by rounding up an amazing move with a deftly boring finish.

“Dest comes with a lot of desire. Sergei Roberto’s unfortunate injury will definitely give him more chances,” Barcelona’s left-hander Alba told reporters after the emphatic victory.

“I think he has a high level. He has a good future and sits perfectly close to Barca with full-back characteristics.”

Dest, who joined Barca from Ajax in October, added: “We played really well. My first goal for the club is to allocate goals. I tried hard to maintain my position because I am happy in this team and I want to keep my place.”

Martin Braithwaite scored twice and Antoine Griezmann was also on target for Barca’s fourth win in several Champions League games – the first time since the 2002-03 campaign.

That is in stark contrast to his La Liga form, which has increased scrutiny on head coach Komen, his worst start to the season in 29 years, who just ruled at Camp Nou in August.

Alba says players are still adjusting to the Commonwealth approach and the change in fate in La Liga is just around the corner.

“We have to improve a lot, it’s a team with a lot of people,” the 31-year-old added.

“I’ve been here for nine years and it’s always been the same. When you can’t win, you talk a lot. It’s normal. We lost points. If the ball had gone differently we would have taken it. .

“I think the work is good, for the team and the coaching staff. There is a high level and any team can beat you if you don’t play well. We have games to win until Christmas break and we will try.”
