US coronavirus: Take action if risking the worst fall in history, says CDC

“For your country at the moment and for the war we are having against Covid, I ask you to do four simple things: wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands and be smart about crowds,” said Dr. Robert Redfield, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“I ask some of America not to do it,” he told WebMD. “We have to do it all.”

Without following the recommendations, this could be “the worst fall, from a public health perspective, that we have ever had,” he said. In addition to taking measures to combat the pandemic, people should also get a flu vaccine.

“By being vaccinated, you can protect your children,” he said. “When we look at the mortality we see with flu, one thing is for sure. The children who are vaccinated, in principle, get protected from death.”

The CDC has purchased 10 million doses of the uninsured adult flu vaccine this year, compared to the typical 500,000 doses. On vaccines against coronavirus, Redfield is cautiously optimistic one or more vaccines will be ready by the beginning of 2021.

Anti-vaxxers increase collusion theories

There are 270 active tears for coronavirus treatments, experts say.

And anti-waxxers have joined social media to spread lies about the future coronavirus vaccine. Some contain claims that the monkey contains brains rather than that it is a CIA plot to take over the world. Others advocate for the vaccine will contain an invisible traceable tattoo and it will disfigure those who take it.

When the lies spread, the multi-billion dollar government invasion tribunal even came up with a public education campaign to counter the propaganda.

“We’re behind this,” said Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health. “We did not do a good job of getting information (coronavirus vaccine).”

The stakes are high. A third of Americans said they do not want to try to get vaccinated against coronavirus, even if the vaccine is widely available and low cost, according to a CNN poll in May.

“Speaking for myself, I think I underestimated the level of public opposition,” Collins said. “I did not expect it to be so widespread.

Dr Tina Hartert of Vanderbilt University Medical Center said that lack of confidence in the vaccine could lead to major outbreaks. She described the government’s communication on the vaccine as crucial.

“We should have started months ago, but it’s never too late to start these important messages. Because otherwise people will listen to messaging is the story of one child from another parent,” Hartert Anderson Cooper, told CNN.

More than 2,000 people quarantined when schools reopened

Coronavirus continues to spread at high rates across the South, Midwest and West – even as the total number of new cases has decreased since a summer uprising.

Nationally, the United States has averaged over 53,000 new cases per day over the past seven days, 11% down the week before.

As educators and parents clash over beginning classes in person, some reopened schools have already seen new cases.

More than 2,000 students, faculty, and staff have been placed in careers in the few open districts in several states, according to a CNN report of reported cases.

Of these, at least 230 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported among the school districts reopened for personal learning.

In Georgia, just outside Atlanta, more than 1,100 students, faculty and staff in the Cherokee County School District are under quarantine as a result of 59 Covid-19 positive cases on display. Schools opened 10 days ago.

Supporters of the Cherokee County School District's decision to reopen schools rejoice over faculties arriving at the district's headquarters in Canton, Georgia.

In Florida, a day after the Martin County School District reopened for personal tutoring, an entire elementary school classroom and one bus route were quarantined after a student showed symptoms of coronavirus, spokeswoman Jennifer DeShazo said Wednesday.

Several states including Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma and Indiana reported cases of teachers, students and sports players testing positive for coronavirus. At Oklahoma’s Broken Arrow Public Schools District, 33 employees tested positive last week, said Superintendent Janet Vinson.

The White House has released eight new recommendations for schools. They are primarily basic hygiene tips and do not outline what schools should do if they find coronavirus cases in their halls. They are similar to efforts for coronavirus mitigation across the country, and not specifically for schools.

The recommendations also encourage the use of masks, but do not require students, faculty or staff to wear them. President Donald Trump said the federal government will supply up to 125 million masks to school districts around the country.

Average of more than 1000 deaths every day for 17 days

Deaths due to the virus have remained high.

The seven-day average of daily coronavirus deaths was at more than 1,000 on Wednesday, the 17th consecutive day that the U.S. averaged more than 1,000 deaths per day.

Adapted to population, states in the Southeast are seeing the most recent cases. Georgia and Florida – states led by Republican administrators who have not issued face mask requirements – have seen the most severe cases per capita in the last seven days, followed by Alabama and Mississippi.

On Wednesday, Florida health officials announced more than 8,000 new case reports and 212 new deaths.
