After months and months of waiting, you can now pre-order Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Microsoft’s next-gen consoles aren’t scheduled for release until November 10, but you can already make sure that some of the new boxes will arrive. . at your door asap right here.
Remember, the Xbox Series X will cost £ 449 / $ 499, while the lower powered Xbox Series S will cost you £ 249 / $ 299. There’s also the Xbox All-Access program if you prefer to pay for the console over time. instead of a single initial cost. If more retailers offer an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S pre-order, we will add them to the page until the end for their launch on November 10. We will also make sure to add any next-gen Xbox bundles if any are available. However, that seems unlikely at this stage.
Xbox Series X / S consoles
An Xbox Series X costs £ 449 / $ 499, which includes the Xbox Series X console and the new Xbox Wireless Controller. Other than all cables and perhaps a free trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, no other extras will be included.
If you want to go for an Xbox Series S, that will cost you £ 249 / $ 299. Remember, however, that is the less powerful version of the next-gen console. It will still run all upcoming Xbox games comfortably, but it won’t play games natively at 4K, it doesn’t feature a disk drive, and it has a smaller 512GB NVMe SSD. However, you will get support for 1440p at 120FPS and 4K upscaling, as well as the same ray tracing and variable refresh rate features as with the X Series.
If you’re willing to sacrifice those extra features, you’ll save a considerable amount of console change. It’s definitely worth it if you’re not gaming on a 4K TV or aren’t overly concerned about all the added performance benefits. Both consoles are also available to purchase for a monthly fee through the Xbox All Access financial program. This bundle includes the Xbox console of your choice and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Retailers offering this payment plan are listed below if you prefer to shop that way. It’s not a bad idea if you are comfortable committing to monthly payments for two years, as you can save a little on your purchase based on our calculations.

Xbox All Access:
If you don’t want to shell out all that cash in one go, you can also make use of the Xbox All Access financing option by purchasing any of the consoles at select retail stores. Through this you can pay £ 29 / $ 35 a month for an Xbox Series X or £ 21 / $ 25 a month for the Xbox Series S. This also includes two years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving you a library full of Xbox games to play immediately and access multiplayer online. Not a bad deal!
Obviously, buying through the Xbox All Access financial scheme requires approval from one of Microsoft’s partners and carries its own risks if you can’t keep up with refunds, so evaluate your financial situation before committing. We’ve run through the numbers and seen that it offers a small savings under most circumstances, so if you adapt, this could help spread the cost of a new console significantly.

Xbox Series X / S Accessories
Along with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, a range of new accessories that are compatible with both consoles has also been made available for pre-ordering.
There’s nothing overly important here that you desperately need from day one, but if you want to drop in an extra controller or grab one of the storage expansion cards, you can do it right here.
Regarding additional storage, for example, the internal 1TB SSD on the Xbox Series X console should keep you going for a while yet. However, the Xbox Series S has a smaller 512GB SSD, so there is a higher risk of filling it first.
For those of you bringing your library of backward compatible Xbox 360 and Xbox One games, we suggest purchasing a more affordable external hard drive that will give you a lot more room for your money for now.

Xbox Series X / S games
Finally, the games. Exactly what will we play on our Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S once they are in our hands? Well, it certainly won’t be Halo Infinite anymore. The 343 Industries shooter and Microsoft’s big calling card were slated to be the console’s main launch title, but were recently pushed back to 2021. Other first-part releases, such as Fable, State of Decay 3, and Forza, are not will appear in the launch window. either.
So what does that leave us then? Well, not many new games from the start. Of course, there are several upgraded versions of older versions of Xbox One that you can play, but most of them will be free if you bought the current generation version. You also have about 100 games to work with on Xbox Game Pass. Without much else to go on, we’ve included some of the biggest Xbox Series X releases announced so far for you to peruse or reserve. How do you feel about that £ 449 / $ 499 price for an Xbox Series X pre-order, then? I’m still going to pick one up. Or, will you go ahead and pre-order the Xbox Series S and accept the small performance hit for the much cheaper entry fee of £ 249 / $ 299?
