Witness appeal after attempted kidnapping of two girls in Bolton | UK News

The police have asked for witnesses after a man tried to kidnap two girls.

The “incredibly troubling” incidents in Bolton, Greater Manchester, occurred on different days earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the man tried to persuade a 10-year-old girl to get into the van driving down Broadford Road at 3:20 p.m.

On Thursday, the same man approached a nine-year-old girl around 3:30 p.m. on the city’s Armadale Road.

Both girls fled sounded the alarm.

The man is described as Asian, with a bald head and facial hair, and wearing a high-visibility jacket and black pants.

Patrols in the area have been increased in an attempt to find the suspect.

Detective Sergeant Robert Parker said: “These are two incredibly disturbing incidents, and fortunately in both cases, neither child was persuaded to go with this man.

“I would like to assure the community that we are doing everything possible to find this man and have increased patrols in the area as we investigate these incidents. If you have any concerns, please speak to our officers.

“We are eager to hear from anyone who has witnessed any of these incidents or seen a man fitting this description driving a white pickup truck in the area.

“If you have seen anything suspicious, do not hesitate to contact the police urgently.”
