Welsh

Leigh Halfpenny He unleashed the first high kick he could think of and it wasn’t very good off the tee, but he never shies away from the challenge. 6/10

Josh Adams Fierce competitor in the air, but no chance to repeat his 2019 goal scoring feat. He didn’t get a chance to stretch his legs. 5

Nick tompkins He missed one inning, but overall he brings reliability to the Welsh defense, honed over the years at Saracens. 6

Johnny williams He represented England at his age level and played with a point to prove. He tried well and launched into tackles. 8

Louis Rees-Zammit He nearly passed Watson on the left and then denied the England wing what looked like a safe attempt in their corner. 6

Dan Biggar | Usually competitive. He charged Slade and kicked forward for Williams’ attempt. He rallied the troops to keep Wales inside with a sniff. 7

Lloyd Williams His first outing in four years and he seemed a little off the beat. Caught when the ball was out of the ruck at one point. 5

Wyn jones Chosen largely to add oomph to the scrum, but Wales got a clear second best. Penalty awarded in breakdown. 5

Ryan elias He made a lot of meaty tackles and ran a solid lineout. However, he coughed out a jolt of panic. Little load impact. 5

Samson lee He had many difficulties at the time of the scrum and was replaced a few minutes into the second half. There is also no loose impact. 4

Jake ball It took a lot and went through a lot of work. He always rolls up his sleeves, but he faced formidable opponents. 6

Alun wyn jones (capt) The 22nd consecutive game against England for the captain, who kept his side in the fight when the visitors could have walked away. 7

Shane Lewis-Hughes Part of a revamped back row, with Tipuric and Navidi absent, but he got stuck and made his share of tackles. 6

James botham Robust by name and by nature, given some of the punches he landed, one at Vunipola echoed in an empty stadium. Brilliant Future. 7

Taulupe faletau Such a graceful operator and so often does the extra yard with his footwork. He was enjoying the duel with old friend Billy Vunipola. 7

ELLIOT DEE REPLACEMENTS (for Elias, 48) He fought for the impact 5; Rhys Square (for Jones, 70) n / A; Thomas Francis (for Lee, 43) Involved in afters 6; Will rowlands (for Ball, 48) He rolled up his sleeves 6; Aaron Wainwright (for Lewis-Hughes, 55) 5; Rhys webb (for L Williams, 48) He seemed safer 6; Callum sheedy (for half a penny, 67) 6; Owen watkin (for Tompkins, 74) n / A

England

Elliot Daly Jinked in midfield a couple of times, but was attacked in the air in the second half. He stamped his left foot but kept going. 7/10

Jonathan Joseph He managed to find open spaces in the first half with England a bit more willing to play, but couldn’t let go of the leash. 6

Henry slade Charged for the opening attempt, but amended by finishing the first England marker. Well chained for the main part. 6

Owen Farrell (capt) He missed the first two shots on goal and it took a while for him to get used to playing again at 12. He hasn’t been at his best this fall. 7

Jonny May No fireworks, but it showed the less glamorous side of his game. Well defended, especially under the high ball, he worked hard. 6

George Ford Such a different proposal to the middle of the fly. He ran with him on occasion and got wider on the ball. However, kicking was not great. 6

Ben youngs A few whimsical kicks, but they provided clubmate Ford with decent service and seemed to shoot more than Ireland. 7

Mako Vunipola He has responded magnificently to losing his spot earlier in the year. He scored from close range and emptied the tank again. 8

Jamie george One of the loudest voices on the field and his shooting at the lineout cannot be blamed. Hard tackle that sets the tone. 8

Kyle sinckler Opponents tried their best to get under his skin, but he kept his composure and came off well. Halfpenny denied him an attempt. 7

Maro Itoje He showed soft hands to free Underhill and his character during England’s losing streak in the first half. He handed out a silly grief. 7

Joe Launchbury A laborious performance. I enjoyed driving Alun Wyn Jones a few feet back, not so much with the condescending pat on the head. 6

Tom curry It came up with a significant turnover just before the break and a willing carrier. He left for an EIS and did not return. 7

Sam underhill Another hugely impressive performance, making advances with the ball in hand, as well as his usual defensive effort. 9

Billy Vunipola The best tackler in England and also did the most meters. He looks in excellent shape and improves the more regularly he plays. 8

REPLACEMENTS Luke Cowan-Dickie (for George, 67) 6; Ellis genge (for M Vunipola, 67) Involved in an outbreak with Francis 6; Will stuart (for Sinckler, 73) n / A; Jonny Hill (for Launchbury, 67) 6; Ben earl (for Underhill, 74) n / A; Jack willis (for Curry, 61) Trademark rotation 7; And robson (for Youngs, 77) n / A; Anthony Watson (for Joseph, 52) Almost scored 7
