Burning feeling
Nigel Winterburn warned Arsenal’s failures that they are not too good to fail.
The former Gunners left back was part of a star-studded West Ham team that was relegated in 2003.
And the 1997-98 double winner worries they can now follow their old Hammers team.
Speaking after the launch of the free fantasy football jackpot game Fantasy5, Winterburn said: “When I left Arsenal and went to West Ham my last season, we had a fantastic team, but we went down.
“But we couldn’t win a soccer game. You come out with good intentions, you can play well at the beginning and you can’t score and build that confidence.
“Suddenly you get an individual error or a player gets sent off and your back is against the wall and you don’t win the game.
“That is exactly what happened in West Ham over a long period of time. I see similar things happening at Arsenal.
“They have to get two wins in a row, very, very fast. It is not good to say ‘We only have 14 games, there is time’.
“You can see that confidence in this team is fading.
“They are tentative, it is almost as if they are waiting for something to happen to react, something against them instead of dictating the play.
“It is very, very worrying because they are not scoring many goals. If Aubameyang doesn’t score, I don’t know who will. “
