The video captures the moment a fight broke out at an Oldham gas station after an apparent disagreement over the wearing of masks.
The incident was videotaped and a woman can be seen throwing punches.
Police have launched an investigation into the ruck that occurred in a garage on Manchester Street, Oldham, reports Mirror.
It all started after a couple reportedly confronted a group of people for not wearing clothes. Two fights broke out.
Oldham, like the rest of Greater Manchester, is currently in the Very High Tier 3 category of the lockdown.
The city had a rate of 409 cases per 100,000 residents in the seven days to October 15.
Two people, a man and a woman, both in their 40s, were assaulted during the fight, according to police.
Police are asking witnesses to submit information about the assault.
A woman can be heard saying in the video: “They refused to wear a mask. I am clinically vulnerable.”
Witnesses can be heard in the background asking the two injured people if they are okay.
Then a woman yells “wear a mask, it’s the law” as a group of three people drive away in a vehicle.
No arrests have been made at this stage and investigations are ongoing.
In a statement, GMP said: “Shortly before 3:40 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, officers received a report that a man and a woman, both in their 40s, had been assaulted on Manchester Street, Oldham.
Initial investigations indicate that a disagreement occurred between two groups of people that resulted in a series of assaults.
“A 41-year-old man was treated for minor injuries at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
“No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are continuing.”
Superintendent Niall Hayden-Pawson said: “We are aware that there are images circulating on social media in relation to this assault.
“However, I would like to make it clear that these images do not capture all of the disagreement, which is why we are asking witnesses to provide information to assist us in our investigation.
“Our officers are trying to piece together the exact circumstances that led to this assault. If you have any information that will assist with our inquiries and help us establish a complete picture of the events, please do not hesitate to contact the police.”
