‘Very happy’ Billy Connolly says he’s made peace with death as Parkinson’s progresses

Billy Connolly, 78, said in his emotional documentary It has been a pleasure Monday night you have made your peace with death.

Speaking about his Parkinson’s disease, Billy admitted, “He got me, he will get me and he will end me, but that’s fine with me.”

“It doesn’t define me.”

His wife Pamela Stephenson said his health is good aside from the obvious, and moving to Florida has been great for him.

He said that the drawing has given him “new life” and that he is also writing his autobiography.



Billy said he knew he had to tell his fans about his diagnosis because his move was different.

Pamela said, “What he wants to do is take it easy, he wants to fish off his Florida pier, enjoy the sun, watch TV, drink tea and eat cookies, that’s what he wants to do.”

At the end of the documentary, Billy told his fans, “It’s been a pleasure talking to you all these years.

“I couldn’t have done anything without you, you’ve been magnificent.”



He insisted that he “had no complaints” and was very happy.

As his friends and showbiz fans paid tribute to him, Billy said, “I’m very touched.

“But remember, I am very happy where I am and it is thanks to you, and what you did in my life.

“I have no complaints.”

Stars like Elton John, Paul McCartney, Whoopi Goldberg and Russell Brand paid their respects to Billy in the moving documentary that recapped his long career.
