United fans react to Van de Beek’s friendly debut against Aston Villa

After less than a week of settling in, Donny van de Beek started his first game for Manchester United at the weekend.

The Dutch international played a central midfield role in United’s friendly match against Aston Villa.

Van de Beek seemed more than comfortable mixing up against a Premier League team.

He was eager for possession and showed his class with a couple of outrageous spins and a back heel to create an opportunity inside the penalty area.

An opportunity to adapt

This was an opportunity for Van de Beek to adapt both to the rhythm of English football and to meet his new teammates.

Solskjaer was impressed, telling the club’s website: “Donny was perhaps the biggest advantage in the outfield.

“He is a great seeker of space and creates time for himself with his timing and movement. I was very happy with his performance. “

It was a disjointed performance by a much-changed United side, missing key stars such as Nemanja Matic, Fred, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes.

He managed to bond well with Marcus Rashford, playing him with a clever pass inside the penalty area in the second half.

Van de Beek nearly finished the game with an assist, when he placed young substitute Ethan Galbraith, only to the teen’s effort to narrowly deviate.

The game gave Van de Beek an additional opportunity to show his fitness and he put himself in the fight for United’s first Premier League match against Palace.

As the debuts in friendly games go without sense, this was fine since the new signing. It is just beginning and the best is yet to come.
