Torrential rains are expected to cause flooding in parts of the UK on Friday.
The Met Office has issued an amber flood warning for South Wales where homes are likely to be affected and communities could be cut off due to water on the roads.
Disruptions to transportation services and power lines are also expected in the region starting at 9 a.m. and lasting through Saturday, with the possibility of lightning and hail forecasts.
A yellow weather warning for rain that could cause some disruption in Cornwall, Devon and the southern half of Wales is also in effect from 7am
A band of heavy rains and coastal gales hit the Southwest Thursday night, bringing persistent rain throughout Friday.
Elsewhere, there will be some concentrated rain in Aberdeen, but a cloudy outlook with bright streaks is expected for the rest of the UK.
Temperatures are forecast to be mild across the country, from around 9 ° C (48 ° F) in northern Scotland to 13 ° C (55 ° F) in Plymouth.
The rain is ready to subside for the weekend, leaving bright spells and stormy showers in most places, and the wetter weather stays in the western areas.
Mild temperatures in the lower teens are also predicted to last throughout the weekend before the cooler weather hits Sunday night.
Meanwhile, experts have warned that the coming months are likely to be wetter than normal in the UK, raising the possibility of further flooding.
Will Lang, chief of civil contingencies at the Met Office, said that after a volatile December, there will be colder and drier weather during Christmas and the New Year.
“Beyond that, however, our longer-range forecasts for January and February have been consistently suggesting that wetter, windier and milder conditions are more likely than normal, so the wet weather will return again,” he said.
