“Temperatures a little bit higher compared to Tuesday, and a less windy day too. Highs of 21C in the west, 12-15C further east.
“Until Wednesday night, once again, the sky is clear, and those clear skies continue to arrive until Thursday.

Met Office’s Bonnie Diamond

“This will be the same for Friday, which could be hotter in some areas.”
“This is due to a large high pressure area in the north of the UK.
“It also helps that there have been consecutive days of clear, hot days that have kept it going.”

The hottest day of the year in the UK so far was recorded in Treknow, Cornwall on April 10.
When asked if Thursday’s temperature could beat it, Ms. Diamond said, “Although 26C might be a little difficult, it is not impossible with light winds and sun traps.
“Friday will probably be a similarly warm day, but as we move into the weekend, we are likely to lose the southwest wind and return to less warm temperatures.”
