Two dead and three in hospital after police chase ends in terror accident in Salford

Two men died after a police chase ended in a terrible accident in Salford.

Officers saw a speeding vehicle on Frederick Road around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday night (September 23).

Police began a chase before the vehicle in question crashed into two other cars.

Two men in the chased car died at the scene, police said.

A man and two women from the other vehicles were taken to hospital with what has been described as serious injuries.

A police cordon was placed on Frederick Road from Broad Street to Lissadel Street after the crushing.

A high-performance Audi belonging to the Greater Manchester Police was seen inside the cordon along with three other vehicles.

A silver vehicle could be seen directly behind the Audi.

Specialized investigators were called to the scene of the accident and could be seen taking photographs of the scene.

Police have not made any arrests.

Two people have died and three are in the hospital.

A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 11:40 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, police observed a speeding vehicle on Frederick Road, Salford.

“The agents started a chase and the vehicle in question collided with two third-party vehicles.

The vehicle being pursued by the police crashed into two other cars

“Two men from the vehicle in question were regrettably pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

“A man and two women from a third-party vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“No arrests have been made.

“In accordance with normal procedure, this incident has been referred to the GMP Professional Standards Branch and the IOPC.”
