Twitter has dropped for thousands of users around the world, leaving them unable to share tweets, view notifications, or update the News Feed.

More than 50,000 users reported problems in Down Detector, which monitors websites and online services.

A outage map shows that the issues are primarily among US users, with some experiencing issues in the UK and Japan, along with other parts of the world.

Down Detector shows that the outage started after 5pm ET and is affecting the website and iOS and Android apps.

Although the site is still accessible, users are shown an error message saying “There is nothing to see here, yet.”

The status page of the official Twitter site shows that it is investigating “irregularities with Twitter’s APIs.”

Although the website is still accessible, many users see “Error”. Something went wrong, but don’t worry, it’s not your fault, but not all functions work properly.

The outage came hours after President Donald Trump’s campaign account was blocked.

Trump has now threatened to revoke the Section 230 protections of Twitter and Facebook, which protect them from being sued for content posted on their platforms.

But after 5 p.m. ET, Trump wasn’t the only one who couldn’t use the platform properly.

Reports continue to skyrocket in Down Detector, despite Twitter’s status page showing everything is operational.

In addition to leaving thousands of users frustrated, Thursday night will see duels in the city councils of President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, and many people around the world planned to scroll through Twitter for the latest updates on the events.

The two will answer questions in different cities on different networks: Trump on NBC from Miami, Biden on ABC from Philadelphia.

This is the second outage to hit Twitter this month; the previous one was on October 1.

That incident also saw more than 50,000 user reports about Down Detector, which lived in the US, Europe, and Asia.

Many users encountered an ‘error message’ when logging in, along with a blank newsfeed that just says ‘try again’ and disabled features, all of which hampered their ability to share tweets.

The peak of the outage occurred around 10 am ET, but much of the service was restored around 10:45 am ET.
