Trump says impeachment moves cause anger, but ‘I don’t want violence’
President Donald Trump’s approval rating has plummeted to an all-time low as the American leader prepares to leave the White House.
In the wake of the deadly Capitol riots on January 6, the president has seen his approval rating drop, and the shift in perception is mostly among Republicans.
The worst poll came from the Pew Research Center, which found Trump’s disapproval rating at 68 percent, with his approval rating falling to 29 percent, the lowest so far, in a poll of 5,360 adults conducted among the January 8 and 12.
The findings come as US states brace for the possibility of inauguration week violence as President-elect Joe Biden prepares to take office Wednesday.
On Sunday, former FBI Director James Comey warned of the “very serious” risk of violence erupting around the inauguration following deadly riots on the US Capitol last week.

Acting Defense Secretary Orders NSA to Install Trump Loyalist as Lead Counsel
The National Security Agency is installing Michael Ellis, a Trump loyalist and National Security Council staff member, as its general counsel.
The order reportedly came from Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, who told NSA Director General Paul Nakasone to give the job to Ellis, a lawyer for the NSC.
“Mr. Ellis accepted your final job offer yesterday afternoon. The NSA is moving forward with its employment, ”said an NSA statement.
He was appointed to the position in November, but was not assigned the position. The Washington Post reports that Mr. Miller gave Mr. Nakasone until Saturday night to place Mr. Ellis in the position.
As a civil service function, it would be difficult for the incoming Biden administration to remove him from office.

Newly elected Republican Representative for Georgia Marjorie Taylor Greene, a fervent supporter of President Trump, a QAnon supporter and a believer in widespread voter fraud, has been temporarily suspended from Twitter.
The legislator tweeted that she blamed state leaders for the defeat of Republican Senate candidates in Georgia’s runoff for not “fixing the elections.”
While suspended, a user can still browse Twitter, but cannot Tweet, Retweet, or like posts.
The suspension will reportedly last for 12 hours.
Ms. Greene was recently mocked for wearing a mask that said “censored” while speaking on live television.

Graham wants Schumer to dismiss impeachment
Senator Lindsey Graham is urging the new Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to vote to reject the article of impeachment against President Trump approved by the House of Representatives.
Mr. Graham wrote in a letter to Mr. Schumer on Sunday that the Democrat seeks “revenge and political retaliation” in his first act as Majority Leader instead of beginning the “national healing” process.
The South Carolina senator believes that the impeachment of a former president is unconstitutional.
In an appearance on Fox News, Graham warned the Republican Party not to condemn Trump. “It would destroy our party … impeach him after he leaves office would be disastrous for our country and our party.”
Former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill probably sums up the reaction of many of her fellow party members:
