Donald Trump continued his return to rallying with a stop in Pennsylvania, his second campaign rally since recovering from the coronavirus.
After a morning of criticizing Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president spent the night targeting Joe Biden for not being a “nice guy” while looking for a new member of the Democrat’s family to accuse of corruption.
Biden’s son-in-law, Howard Kerin, was reported to be investing in startups focused on the Covid-10 response while also advising Biden on how to respond to the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Biden made two campaign stops in Florida as the election campaign approached the home stretch. More stops will be added to the schedule and Barack Obama is expected to hit the road more consistently in the battlefield states.
In Pennsylvania, Trump called Kamala Harris “pathetic” while questioning his Supreme Court pick, Amy Coney Barret.
Trump, along with much of Washington, was tuned in to Barret’s Senate confirmation on Capitol Hill amid the Democratic outcry to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a non-liberal justice.
In his cross-examination, Harris focused on vulnerable Republicans over Obamacare while reciting projections of who would lose health insurance in five key states if the Supreme Court struck down the Affordable Care Act.
Barrett faced tough questions about key rulings on the Affordable Care Act and Roe v Wade, as well as questions about the Second Amendment
He said the landmark abortion case is not considered a “super precedent,” and maintained that he did not intentionally withhold a newspaper ad he co-signed that criticized the law.
While she was being questioned in the Senate, a federal appeals court struck down a Texas law banning the most common abortion procedure, raising a challenge in the Supreme Court.

Trump returns to Florida election campaign, insists he feels ‘powerful’
Donald Trump, who was released from the hospital just a week ago after his coronavirus diagnosis, returned to the election campaign in Sanford, Florida, on Monday night and insisted he felt “powerful.”
“I will enter that audience. I will enter there, I will kiss everyone in that audience. I will kiss the boys and beautiful women … everyone. I will only give you a big fat kiss.”, Said the president to the cheers of his followers , most of whom wore neither masks nor social distancing.
Throwing MAGA hats into the crowd, the president touted his administration’s “success” in fighting a virus that has killed more than 210,000 Americans, the highest death toll in the world.
“Nobody acted fast like me,” he said. “The bottom line is that we saved millions of lives. When this first came out, if we didn’t do a good job, they predicted 2.2 million people would die. We’re at 210,000.”
He also danced, rather stiff, to the Village People.
With the president trailing Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, by around 10 percentage points in current polls, Trump will participate in a second rally in as many days tonight when he addresses an audience in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Before last night’s rally in Sanford, Richard Hall took the temperature of the MAGA crowd and found some rather alarming sentiments expressed.
“I think the coronavirus is too exaggerated. I’ve had a lot of friends who tested positive, they didn’t show any symptoms, they were never really sick,” said Brittany Howard, 22.
“It seems like it was just a huge scare. I don’t know if the numbers are real or not. I’ve heard a lot about hospitals diverting paperwork, paying them, getting government funding if they say it was coronavirus.” settled down.”

The first case of reinfection by Covid-19 is registered in the United States
While Trump could continue to insist that he is now “immune” to the coronavirus, and imagines himself as Superman, it is becoming increasingly clear that catching the disease once is no guarantee that he won’t be able to get it again.
In fact, just yesterday, American scientists reported the first case of reinfection in the country.
A study published by The lancet showed that a 25-year-old man from Nevada became infected with two different variants of Sars-CoV-2 within 48 days.
The patient’s second infection was more severe, the University of Nevada researchers said, resulting in a hospital stay on oxygen support.
At least four other cases of reinfection have been confirmed globally, in Belgium, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Ecuador, although scientists have suggested that the true figure is likely much higher.

Democrats Attack Republican Party As Amy Coney Barrett Hearings Open
The Senate Judiciary Committee met yesterday to consider Trump’s Supreme Court nominee as the successor to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a session in which Republican and Democratic senators bickered back and forth in their opening statements for and against proceeding with one-week hearings.
Republicans were offended by what they said were unfair attacks on the deeply conservative Judge Barrett for her devout Christian faith, while Democrats said the nomination should not happen before the November 3 election and that her opponents were trying to rush it for the sake of having the court dismantle the Affordable Care Act before potentially losing the White House and its majority in the Senate.
“The bottom line here is that the Senate is doing its job constitutionally,” he said.
“19 vacancies have been filled in election years. Seventeen of the 19 were confirmed to the court when the party of the president and the Senate was the same ”.
Monday’s session began with controversy when Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee arrived to participate in person despite testing positive for the coronavirus just over a week ago (his colleague and fellow sufferer, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, participated via Zoom).
The atmosphere did not improve.
Democrats like Pat Leahy, Dianne Feinstein, Dick Durbin, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker made passionate pleas against any assault on health care on behalf of their constituents, as the likes of Ted Cruz, Mike Crapo, and Josh Hawley turned their eyes on white and accused their rivals of playing politics, while the judge herself remained inscrutable behind a black mask.

Poor Dr. Anthony Fauci, who yesterday had to distance himself from Team Trump’s dishonest use of a quote from an old interview in a campaign video, now has to sound the alarm about the president’s ill-advised demonstrations.
“When you look at what’s going on in the United States, it’s really very troublesome,” the doctor told Jake Tapper on CNN Monday. “It is going in the wrong direction right now.
