Trump demands that Congress increase Covid aid payments and withdraw foreign aid before signing a stimulus bill

The outgoing president attacked the $ 900 billion pandemic aid package sent to his desk to sign a new video released by the White House.

“The bill that they now plan to send back to my desk is very different than planned,” Trump said in the video posted on Twitter.

“It really is a shame.”

And in the video he concluded by insisting that the next White House administration could “be me,” even though his loss to Joe Biden was certified by Electoral College voters.

The president has refused to grant Biden the election and has made false claims about voter fraud in the states he lost.

But he has suffered a series of defeats in the US courts and has been rejected by the Supreme Court in his attempts to overturn the elections.

Trump urged Congress to “immediately get rid of unnecessary and wasteful articles” of the bill.

“Send me a proper bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a Covid aid package, and maybe that administration is me, we will get it done,” he said from the White House.

Democrats and Republicans ultimately agreed to give Americans $ 600 per person per child stimulus checks, while Trump reportedly wanted larger checks issued.

“I’m asking Congress to amend this bill and raise the ridiculously low $ 600 to $ 2,000, or $ 4,000 for a couple,” Trump said.

The bill passed by veto-proof majorities, 359-53 in the House and 92-6 in the Senate.
