The visitors could have been ahead all along after Jordan Nobbs’ two long-range efforts forced Rebecca Spencer to make good saves.

The Gunners made the breakthrough after 25 minutes when Foord teamed up with Noelle Maritz on the right side before putting the ball in the bottom corner.

Arsenal doubled their lead in the 34th minute after a wonderful shot from Miedema, with the Dutch international knocking over a McCabe corner at home.

The Gunners completed the scoring in the 60th minute after McCabe pounced on a defensive error before calmly throwing the ball into the back of the net.

The victory means that Joe Montemurro’s team remains steadfast in its quest for Champions League spots. They are three points behind Manchester United, who beat West Ham on Saturday, but with one game less.

Meanwhile, the Spurs remain eighth in the WSL standings.

What the managers said …

Armory Chief Joe montemurro: “We played great football in September, October and November, but we are
Definitely finding a good rhythm now.

“We cannot trust other results and the chances of other teams, we just have to worry about what we are doing.

“We just have to go through our weekly processes and hopefully things will fall into place.”

Spurs boss Rehanne Skinner: “To be honest, maybe we were a bit hesitant in the first half. We could have been a bit more forceful in putting pressure on Arsenal.

“We definitely grew in the game, which is positive, we pushed higher in the middle and that created some good opportunities for us.

“But when we created these opportunities, we were probably in a position where we couldn’t get back into the game.”
