Five crew members from the set of Mission: Impossible reportedly resigned after Tom Cruise had a second furious spiel.
It had been claimed on Tuesday that the 58-year-old actor gave staff an X-rated reprimand after he caught them breaking UK Covid rules at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire.
Now, a source has said that after news of the first blast broke, there has been “more anger” over the already “tense” production, The Sun reports.
Wasn’t I impressed? Five members of the Mission: Impossible set crew reportedly resigned after Tom Cruise had a second furious spiel (pictured filming in Rome in November)
The source said: ‘The tension has been building for months and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Since it was made public, there has been more anger and several staff members have walked.
But Tom can’t take it anymore after all the efforts they’ve made to keep filming. He’s upset that others don’t take him as seriously as he does.
They added that it is Tom who feels responsible for the production after spending so much time and money ensuring that the necessary precautions are taken so that the crew can film.
MailOnline has reached out to Tom Cruise representatives for comment.
The Hollywood star was previously reported to have scolded workers who disobeyed social distancing rules while filming at Warner Bros. Studios.
Inverted: A source said the 58-year-old Hollywood star is “ upset that others don’t take it as seriously as he is ” (photographed in Rome in October)
Invoking the no-nonsense attitude of his character, Ethan Hunt, the actor is said to have told them ‘If I see you doing it again, you’ll be gone,’ according to The Sun.
The newspaper said the reprimand was recorded on audiotape, on which he is heard adding: ‘And if someone on this team does it, that’s it, and so do you and so do you.
And you, never do it again. We’re not closing this damn movie. ‘
The American actor was reportedly angered after seeing the couple less than a meter away on a computer screen.
Working hard: Tom has already been seen filming in Rome for the latest movie, in which he will reprise the role of American secret agent Ethan Hawk (pictured filming an action scene)
Filming on the latest film in the hit franchise, Mission Impossible 7, is already underway.
The actor has already been seen filming in Rome for the movie, in which he will reprise the role of the fictional American secret agent, Hunt.
Last month, Tom was spotted driving a vintage yellow Fiat 500 in the Italian capital as he prepared for dramatic scenes of confrontation with a squad of police cars.
The star was seen trying to drive her small vehicle down a wide city boulevard, before seemingly taking off when she encountered the army of police officers and bicycles.
In previous weeks, he was seen filming several scenes in the Italian capital with his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Hayley Atwell, 38.
Filming has also taken place in Venice, as well as Great Britain and Norway.
Frustrating: Filming has already been delayed for months after COVID-19 spread across Italy, where production had been based in March, leading to a delayed release.
But the movie has already suffered delays. The team was forced to stop production due to Covid.
Many of the vital scenes had to be shot in Italy, which was at one time the center of the global pandemic.
In October, the Top Gun star held crisis talks with director Christopher McQuarrie after 12 people on set reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
Health chiefs were said to be tracking the contacts of those who tested positive after filming was suspended, dashing hopes that it was an isolated case.
Last month, The Sun reported that 150 movie extras were told they were not supposed to attend to film scenes that were scheduled for the night.
While no official reason was given for the sudden decision, it was claimed that a coronavirus test had come back positive on the production, so filming had to be temporarily suspended.
Crew also urged members of the public to remain socially distanced from each other while waiting to see the stars, while Tom and director Christopher are also said to have made the request.
The star has been wearing a mask on set and has reportedly been keeping an eye out for violators of Covid rules as well.
According to the Sun, he has paid £ 500,000 of his own money to pay for a cruise for the cast and crew to isolate themselves.
Mission: Impossible 7 will be released on November 19, 2021.
Delays: In October, it was reported that 150 extras were informed that they were not to come to film scenes that were on the shooting schedule (Tom and his co-star Hayley pictured in October)
