Tom Cruise has delivered a furious security spiel about COVID-19 on the set of Mission Impossible: 7 after crew members appeared to ignore social distancing rules.
The 58 year old has gone to great lengths to ensure that filming for the latest installment in the long-running action franchise goes ahead, despite strict coronavirus restrictions.
In the audio obtained by The Sun, Cruise can be heard yelling and cursing at two employees who say they are sitting too close together on a computer screen, telling them, “If I see you do it again, you’re screwed. * Gone. “
He goes on to tell them that Mission Impossible is the “gold standard”, leading the way to get the film industry working again.
Cruise says, “I’m on the phone with all the damn late-night studios, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We’re creating thousands of jobs. Son of a bitch. I don’t want to go back to see him never again!
“And if you don’t do it, you’re fired, if I see you do it again, you’re going to lose it. And if someone on this team does it, that’s it, so do you.
An unrepentant cruise ship says it is working for “the future of the industry” and refusing to watch its TV closed due to breach of COVID rules.
He advises staff that it is their responsibility to follow the rules and that it is important because he “trusts” and “cares about them.”
Cruise’s movie started shooting in Europe earlier this year, but production was halted as the pandemic spread across the continent.
In September, Cruise paid around half a million pounds to hire cruises to house the production team in Norway and keep them safe during filming.
In October, several of them were reported to have tested positive for COVID-19 while filming in Italy.
During his tirade, Cruise reviews the name of Universal, Paramount and Warner Brothers studios, all of which have faced tough decisions about the release of their latest films.
Mission Impossible is currently filming at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden in Hertfordshire, and is distributed by Paramount Pictures.
Just this week, Warner Brothers released the Wonder Woman sequel in UK theaters, despite the fact that tens of millions of people are in Level 3, including Londoners, which means that trips to the cinema are impossible.
