Cards ready, buyers. The Black Friday 2020 sales are over, and if the last few months of discounts are anything to go by, it’s time to start shopping for some of the best deals of the decade right now.
The Black Friday event officially begins today, but this year retailers were way ahead of the curve, with some offering discounts last week.
In true Black Friday tradition, there are deals for almost everything you could be saving; cell phones, washing machines, headphones, holidays and all the Christmas gifts you may want to give yourself (or others) this year.
But unlike in previous years, this year’s sales are completely online, thanks to the second shutdown, which has closed all “non-essential” stores for the rest of the month.
As always, The Telegraph has not only selected the highlights from a huge and growing selection of Black Friday retailers, but we will keep this page updated with the best last minute deals as they go live today.
So, the following is our guide on how to find the best Black Friday 2020 deals today:
Where to find the best Black Friday deals today
- Amazon’s Black Friday extravaganza, which has been so successful for the company that it alone brought CEO Jeff Bezos’ net worth to more than $ 100 billion in 2017, heavily promotes and discounts its private label products. Think virtual assistants, virtual books, and just about anything else that falls under the category of “technology.”
- TVs are a Black Friday staple, and as its back-end technology becomes increasingly advanced, OLED displays and next-gen models are much more affordable during this shopping weekend.
- Apple isn’t known for discounting its famous products on Black Friday. However, it is not all bad news: Many mobile network providers offer SIM-free iPhone and iPad deals, as well as very low monthly plans.
- Clothing retailers typically prefer store-wide and site-wide discounts (often around 20 percent for commercial brands and 10 percent for designers) to individual deals. This, however, makes them one of the only places to find great deals on a store’s ‘extras’, such as accessories, household items, and gadgets that turn them into brilliant add-ons.
- The PS4 and Xbox One ‘bundles’ (which include a console and some discounted games) are available everywhere game consoles are sold. The new PS5 is less so, but there is still time for some retailers to lower their RRP a bit.
- As part of an effort to expand its audience beyond used goods lovers, eBay offers a variety of exclusive Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. In recent years, they have been especially generous with discounts on appliances.
- Beginning and professional photographers alike are likely to save hundreds of pounds on camera and compact gear. Most of the big tech retailers are discounting one or two flagship products in each category.
- Both John Lewis and Currys PC World price match many of the best offerings from their competitors, making Currys a one-stop-shop for technology and John Lewis a worthwhile destination for high-end products.
