Leicester full-back Timothy Castagne will be out of the game until after the international break in November due to a hamstring injury.

Atalanta’s summer signing was not on Foxes’ squad for Thursday night’s Europa League win over AEK Athens alongside Jonny Evans.

The blow could keep him out of Premier League clashes with Leeds and Wolves, the Europa League match against Braga in between, as well as Belgium’s internationals with Switzerland, England and Denmark.

Coach Brendan Rodgers confirmed: “Timothy could be out until after the international break. It’s a slight twinge in the hamstring.”

“Jonny was supposed to play but he felt it last night. He had an awkward landing against Arsenal. He felt the pain again today and it was too much pain, so unfortunately he can’t.”

Belgium face Switzerland in a friendly before two UEFA Nations League matches against England and Denmark, the last of which is on 18 November. Leicester will then travel to Liverpool on November 21.

Castagne has so far impressed in his first season in the Premier League and has always been present in Rodgers’ defense, while Evans joined him after missing the first few games of the campaign.

They were absent when Leicester won 2-1 in Greece on Thursday night to stay atop Group G with Braga after two games.
