Thomas Partey anticipates a tough clash with a fit Manchester United this weekend but says Arsenal are more than capable of winning if they do the job they have planned, ‘fight’ tooth and nail for a result and put ‘ pressure ‘from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions and will be especially encouraged by their resounding 5-0 win over Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s form has dropped dramatically after a promising start to the season and Mikel Arteta’s men will still be sore after their 1-0 home loss to Leicester City in their final Premier League game.

But despite Arsenal’s poor form, Partey is full of confidence and believes his new team can leave the Theater of Dreams with all three points if they deliver in three key areas.

“Manchester United is a great team with great players and important players,” the midfielder told Arsenal’s official website.

“If we do our job well, if we go in and fight for the points, if we put a lot of pressure on them, we can win.”

Partey lifted the lid on his emotions when he found out he would be making his full Premier League debut against Leicester last weekend.

‘I could not believe it [when I found out I was starting]” added the Ghanaian.

“I was a little nervous, but I always have these nerves when I play most of my game, so I said, ‘Okay, let me stay calm and I’ll be fine.

So when we started the game, I thought we had control of the ball and so many chances, and we were unlucky. It’s part of football and we have to keep working, we have to keep working hard because we have a great team of great players.

‘I think we are going to be successful. I think I’m in the team I’m looking forward to playing for.

“They have everything, a good coach, good players, the right mentality and their way of playing is very good. It’s the best place for me. ‘
