The 29-year-old arrived from Champions League champion Bayern Munich earlier this month and made his debut in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Chelsea last week.
The midfielder missed his team’s game against Arsenal on Monday and is said to be experiencing mild symptoms of the virus.
“It is up to each individual to publicly disclose the result of a COVID-19 test,” said first team physician Dr. Jim Moxon.

“We have followed all the protocols to the letter and Thiago is fine. Now he will isolate himself according to the guidelines and we hope that he will return to us soon.”

The club confirmed that it will continue to follow all Covid-19 guidelines and assured that Thiago “is in good health and is improving.”

“It is time to heal,” Thiago wrote in Twitter.
