High-level sport in England could restart behind closed doors from June 1, but spectators will not be able to attend the venues until a vaccine is found.
The government’s roadmap for breaking out of the blockade imposed to limit the spread of the coronavirus was released Monday afternoon, establishing the conditions under which various activities can be carried out safely.
The second step of the roadmap, which cannot begin before June 1, includes “allowing cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed doors for broadcast, avoiding the risk of large-scale social contact.”

However, this will only be possible if sufficient progress is made to limit the spread of the virus from time to time, but the document entitled ‘Our plan to rebuild: the UK government’s Covid-19 recovery strategy’ says that ‘ Organizations should plan accordingly. ‘
The new guidelines mean that Premier League football has the green light to resume on the proposed date of June 12, if all 20 clubs win a vote in the coming weeks.
If the project restart plan is accepted by the 14 required teams, matches are expected to be played at various neutral venues across the country.

The document talks about places like movie theaters and hairdressing salons reopening in step three, not before July 4, but states: ‘Some places that by design are crowded and where it may be difficult to enact distancing will still not be able to reopen from securely at this point, or it can be opened securely only in part.
However, the government will want to open as many companies and public places as the data and information allow at the time.
‘In order to facilitate the quickest possible reopening of these riskier businesses and public places, the Government will carefully readjust and reopen the evidence to test their ability to adopt the new COVID-19 security guidelines.

However, fans at stadiums could still be a long way off, with matches initially behind closed doors.
‘The Government will also carefully monitor the effects of the reopening of other similar establishments in other parts of the world, as this happens.
“The government will establish a series of working groups to work closely with stakeholders in these sectors to develop ways that they can make these companies and public places safe COVID-19.”
Page 21 of the document warns that the opening of places such as sports stadiums “can only be fully possible significantly later on depending on the reduction in the number of infections.”
The Premier League is awaiting further guidance on how the new rules will relate to them, and the Department of Culture, Media and Sports will be asked to clarify elite training.
According to guidelines published Wednesday, people are only allowed to exercise with one person from another home.
