The shocking video showing two white men shooting at the unarmed black runner Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia was leaked to the press by a close friend of the assailants who he believed would eliminate them from any crime.
Lawyer Alan Tucker told Inside Edition on Friday that he was responsible for publishing the images, which showed his friends Gregory and Travis McMichael involved in a fatal altercation with Arbery in Brunswick on February 23.
“I really thought that releasing the video would reveal the truth to the public,” said Tucker.
‘If he [Arbery] he froze and did nothing, so he would not have been shot.
However, after the video was uploaded to the Internet on Tuesday, it quickly went viral and sparked outrage across the country. The alleged Democratic candidate for President Joe Biden said he showed the McMichaels killing Aubrey “in cold blood.”
The father and son were subsequently arrested Thursday and have now been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

The McWilliams claim that Arbery was a robbery suspect, and they followed him in his truck before trying to arrest a citizen.
But on Friday, a local police official told CNN that there had been no robbery in the neighborhood for nearly two months before the fatal shooting.
Abery was shot dead on February 23. The last robbery in Brunswick was reported on January 1, when a 9mm pistol was stolen from an unlocked vehicle outside the McMichaels’ home.
Meanwhile, CNN also reported on Friday that a homeowner near the scene of the Arbery shooting said his surveillance system captured a man who appeared to be Arbery “breaking into his property.”
Arbery’s family attorney, Lee Merritt, told CNN that the incident would be classified as “invasion at best.”
Merritt was also forced to defend himself against reports that Arbery was charged with allegedly bringing a gun to a basketball game in high school in 2013, and that he was arrested for theft in 2018.
“Arbery’s alleged conduct in high school or shoplifting is absurd and has nothing to do with his murder,” said Merritt.
Arbery’s death has sparked outrage across the country. A demonstration was held on Friday for the murdered runner, the day he would have celebrated his 26th birthday.

However, according to a report in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Brunswick District Attorney Jackie Johnson prevented the police from arresting them because she was friends with Gregory McMichael.

McMichael, who is a former police officer, had worked as an investigator in Johnson’s office until his retirement in 2019, prompting Johnson to withdraw from the case a few days after the shooting.
“He closed them to protect his friend McMichael,” Glynn County Commissioner Allen Booker told The Atlanta Journal Constition.
“They were told not to make the arrest,” added Commissioner Peter Murphy, who said he also spoke directly to Glynn County Police about the incident and that officials had said there was a probable cause of arrest prior to this.

The Arbery family was told in February that Ahmaud was shot by an owner during an attempted robbery, his lawyer Lee Merritt told Yahoo.
It was only after the video Bryan recorded leaked and caused outrage when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation became involved and arrests were made.

Speaking on Fox Friday, President Trump said the images were “very disturbing.”
He also claimed that there may have been more that were not seen on camera.
‘I looked at a photo of that young man. He was in a tuxedo … I’ll say he looks like a very good boy, ” Trump said.
‘There could have been things that we didn’t see on the tape, off the tape and then on the tape again, but it was certainly concerning for anyone who saw it. It was a disturbing video.
“My heart goes out to parents and families and friends,” he added as he said he believed Georgia Governor Brian Kemp would investigate the matter “strongly.”
‘[Brian Kemp] going to do the right thing. It is a heartbreaking thing. That was very hard, difficult things.
‘Doing justice is what the [racial problem]. Once again, it is in the governor’s hands and I am sure he will do the right thing. It could be something we didn’t see on the tape. If you saw, things got off the tape and then went back on the tape.

Ahmaud Arbery’s death has caught the attention of alleged Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who sent a tweet describing Arbery’s death as “murder.”
“The video is clear: Ahmaud Arbery was killed in cold blood,” Biden tweeted Tuesday night along with a link to a recommendation by the Georgia district attorney that a grand jury hear the case.
“My heart goes out to his family, who deserve justice and he deserves it now,” the alleged Democratic candidate continued in his Twitter post. “It is time for a quick, complete and transparent investigation into his murder.”
Former Democratic presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Beto O’Rourke also tweeted for justice, claiming the attack was racially motivated.
Celebrities like LeBron James, Justin Bieber, and Kendall Jenner also posted about the case.
LA Laker star James tweeted a passionate message to his 45 million Twitter followers claiming that black people are outlined in the color of their skin.
“We are literally hunted EVERY DAY / EVERY MOMENT we come out of the comfort of our homes!” he wrote.
