The latest coronavirus infection rates in Greater Manchester as the region records more than 2,000 new cases

Greater Manchester recorded more than 2,342 coronavirus cases today, 55% more than last Wednesday.

The infection rate for the region is now over 400 (413.9) and is again on an upward trend, 7.6 percent more from week to week.

Bolton has the fastest growing infection spread and recorded more than 200 cases in a single day for the first time, now an increase of 35 pc week-over-week.

In Stockport, the number of confirmed cases of the virus is increasing after seeing a downward trend for the past two days.

Cases in Manchester continue to decline, for the 10th day in a row, but there are signs that it may be stabilizing.

Trafford, the other area where cases are declining, may also stabilize in the coming days.

Rochdale remains the municipality with the highest number of coronavirus rates in the region, with a rate of 486.5 per 100,000 residents.

Represents a weekly increase of 17 percent.

Salford is just behind Rochdale, with an infection rate of 461.7.

Greater Manchester infection rate

Wigan currently has an infection rate of 459.5, while the rate in Oldham is 447.5.

Bury has seen a weekly increase of 11 percent, while at Tameside, that percentage increase is 17 percent.

Yesterday it was confirmed that the ten districts of Greater Manchester will enter Level 3, the strictest level of the new lock classification system.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed the move after days of tense negotiations with local leaders failed.

Both parties were unable to agree on the level of finance needed to implement the rules and support the affected local businesses.

Pubs that do not serve a substantial meal with drinks will be ordered to close as of 00.01 on Friday, while stricter social distancing measures will be applied.

Other places, such as gambling shops, casinos, bingo halls, adult gaming centers, and soft-play areas will also be forced to close.
