Here is his Liverpool recap from Monday March 1st.

Liverpool’s new CB pecking order?

Ian Doyle writes: A much-needed win for Liverpool at Sheffield halted a series of four consecutive top flight losses and breathed new life into their babbling challenge in the top four.

It is also fitting that the breakthrough came from a hit cooked up by the two local talents on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

However, Nat Phillips’ performance at the heart of the defense made light of the absence of both the Brazilian and Jordan Henderson, who has been on a long injured list for at least the next six weeks.

Dominant in the air, determined on defense and showing the right character, Phillips now has a strong claim to be Liverpool’s main starting center-back from now until the end of the season.

There is a lot to think about for Klopp, especially with Chelsea on the horizon.

It was much better for the champions, as they halted their four-game losing streak at home against the last Premier League team.

The first half consisted of a series of chances for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

But Aaron Ramsdale put on an inspired performance to keep visitors at bay in Sheffield.

However, Jones broke the deadlock after a good job from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 48th minute before an own goal secured all three points later.

Alisson was understandably absent from the Reds’ side after his father tragically died earlier in the week.

Adrian took his place in goal, with Caoimhin Kelleher still unavailable for selection.

But the Sky Sports commentator couldn’t understand it, and repeatedly named ‘Alisson’ as the Reds’ goalkeeper during the game.
