Thames Valley police arrested five teenagers on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder after the death of a 13-year-old boy in the Emmer Green area of ​​Reading.

Police and paramedics received reports of a stabbing in the Bugs Bottom fields, near St Barnabas Road, Gravel Hill, just before 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The 13-year-old boy died at the scene.

In the early hours of today, Monday, January 4, Thames Valley Police confirmed that four boys and a girl had been arrested as part of their murder investigation.

The five, who police say are between 13 and 14 years old and from Berkshire, remain in custody this morning.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Kevin Brown, Chief of the Thames Valley Police Major Crimes Unit, said: “This continues to be a very active investigation and great surveillance of the scene is being maintained.
