Arsenal’s performance in the first half against Burnley was one that will not be fondly remembered by many.
The Gunners, who entered the game having lost their last three home games in the Premier League, failed to bring down the Clarets in the first 45 minutes and ended up losing 1-0 after Pierre’s second-half own goal. Emerick Aubameyang.
Alexandre Lacazette had Arsenal’s best chance in the first half when the ball fell into the box, but the Frenchman’s effort was stopped by Nick Pope in the Burnley goal.
Such was the lackluster nature of the first half that it could be summed up in a moment.

Before the half was over, Sky Sports cameras focused on Per Mertesacker in the stands at Emirates Stadium.
The former Arsenal captain retired from football at the end of the 2017/2018 season but remains a key figure at the club.
He is the current coach of the Arsenal Academy and was present on Sunday night, perhaps to see the progress of Bukayo Saka, who was named in the starting eleven.
However, the highlight of his first half was apparently something on his phone.
And some Arsenal fans had some funny theories about what the German was really up to.
