Ten more people have died in northeast hospitals after contracting coronavirus.
NHS England reported a total of 207 deaths on Saturday afternoon, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in England’s hospitals to 22,972.
Of these, 47 occurred on May 8, 90 were confirmed on May 7, and 23 were reported on May 6.
The figures also show that 23 of the new deaths occurred between May 1 and May 5, 19 occurred in April, while the remaining five occurred in March, and the earliest death occurred on March 12.
In the Northeast, Northumbria reported the highest number of deaths with four, while there were three in Durham and Darlington County.

Meanwhile, UK airlines have been told they would have to quarantine all air passengers flying to the UK since the end of the month.
It comes just a day before Boris Johnson reveals the changes to be made to the current blocking restrictions.
