Teen stabbed in arm on Loop Line in ‘harrowing’ assault

Police are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in the arm Saturday afternoon on the Loop Line.

Emergency services were called to the off-road trail near Asser Road in West Derby at around 5.45pm, following reports that a 15-year-old boy was found with a stab wound to the arm.

The entrance to the popular cycling and walking route was closed while police conducted investigations and forensic investigations are ongoing.

In particular, the police want to speak to a cyclist who was passing through the area at the time.

Merseyside Police Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “Fortunately, the victim was not more seriously injured, but we have all seen the catastrophic consequences of knife crime, and this will have been an extremely harrowing experience. We are determined to find out. who was responsible and bring them to court.

“At this early stage, we are looking to speak to anyone near the loop line and Asser Road around 5.30 tonight.

“We believe that a man wearing a black padded jacket was riding a moped at this time, and we would like to identify him and speak to him as a matter of priority. If he passed by and saw something, including someone escaping on foot or in a vehicle, come in. Your CCTV, dash cam or other information could be vital. “

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life threatening and is described as stable.
