Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Anton Du Beke will reportedly take a seat on the judging panel this weekend to replace Motsi Mabuse.

The bosses were mired in a last-minute shakeup after Motsi was forced to isolate himself at home after an “urgent” trip to Germany.

As a result, he will not be in the studio for at least two weeks until his quarantine period is over and he will miss the next two live shows.

And it seems the executives’ first choice was for Anton to replace her, given her extensive experience in professional dance and her familiarity with the show.

A final decision is expected today, The Sun reports.

Insiders say bosses plan to temporarily promote dancer Anton to the judging panel after years of speculation that he might step up.

A final decision was made today on the addition of Anton to the judges.

Mirror Online has contacted Strictly Come Dancing and Anton’s representatives for comment.

Motsi took to Twitter to update fans on Thursday, writing: “Hi guys. Earlier this week I needed to travel to Germany for an urgent reason.”

Motsi Mabuse To Miss Strictly This Weekend And Possibly Other Shows

Motsi is still scheduled to appear on the show virtually, but will be absent from the studio as Judge Bruno Tonioli, who is still in the United States.

She added: “Of course I will follow UK government guidelines and isolate myself for 14 days. I will be watching from home and by the power of technology it should be in your living rooms.

“But be careful, I’ll be doing my hair and makeup!”

Anton and his famous partner Jacqui Smith were the first to be eliminated from the competition.

A spokesperson told Mirror online: “Motsi had to make an essential trip and will now be isolated for 14 days according to government guidelines.”

“We look forward to welcoming you back to the Strictly studio in a few weeks.”

It comes as Katya Jones and Nicola Adams were forced to leave the series today, after Katya tested positive for coronavirus.

Nicola has tested negative, while she must remain in quarantine for 14 days as she has been in direct contact with Katya.

It Takes Two’s host, Rylan Clark-Neal, also isolates himself, after coming into contact with someone with the virus.

Gethin Jones has replaced Rylan on the show until he returns, while no one will replace Katya and Nicola.
