Street sealed after youth stabbed by gang in brutal attack

Emergency services came to the scene of a violent attack this afternoon, where a man was found with severe stab wounds.

Police and an air ambulance were called around 3.10pm to Davidson Road in Old Swan after a man in his 20s was reported to have been stabbed.

The man was taken to hospital after it was discovered that he had suffered “serious injuries”.

An air ambulance was dispatched to Rathbone Park in Old Swan while police closed the streets while detectives worked at the scene.

Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion that Section 18 had intentionally injured.

They have been brought in for questioning while officers remain in the area conducting forensic investigations, speaking to witnesses and conducting house-to-house inquiries.

Despite the arrests, detectives continue to ask for information regarding the stabbing.

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: “Although we have arrested three in connection with this serious assault, we are eager to speak with anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious in the area this afternoon.
