Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not take advancement to the Champions League knockout stage for granted despite Manchester United’s important victory against Istanbul Basaksehir.
Bruno Fernandes’ double, added by Marcus Rashford’s penalty and a late goal from substitute Daniel James, led United to a 4-1 win, meaning Solskjaer’s side only need one point from their last two games. to qualify for the round of 16.
But next week’s home game against PSG and the trip to Leipzig means the manager is not getting ahead of himself.

“The group is still very open,” said the Norwegian.
‘We have nine, two in six points (PSG and RB Leipzig) and Basaksehir in three, so we still need points to pass.
One should probably be enough and three will probably give you the win, so hopefully against PSG we can secure the points we need, but that’s another matter.

The midfield talisman selflessly allowed Rashford to take the spotlight, before the England international stepped in and sent the goalkeeper down the wrong path.
The Norwegian told BT Sport: ‘Marcus is a very good penalty taker and Bruno is very confident, if Bruno wants to give it to Marcus why not?
“Anthony Martial also took one against Leipzig, why not share it?” added.
