Snowfall has hit parts of North Wales after days of storms.
Today, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Denbighshire, Wrexham, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Conwy.
The alert will go into effect from 6 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Meteorologists warned of “the development of icy surfaces, with some snow in places” and described it as “a cold and icy start” to the holiday Monday.
People have been told to expect “some slip and fall injuries on icy surfaces” and “probably some patches of ice on some untreated roads, pavements and bike lanes.”
Earlier this morning the A44 between Llangurig and Aberystwyth in central Wales was closed for hours due to “bad weather conditions” and a snowplow was dispatched to clear the road.
And in Denbighshire, Allt Y Graig in Dyserth was partially blocked due to a car accident near The Falls Resort.
Police confirmed that the road is icy and very steep, causing dangerous driving conditions in both directions between Trelawnyd and Meliden.
Meanwhile, Traffic Wales has warned motorists to drive safely and allow more time to travel, as a blanket of Bylchau and Pentrefoelas covered in snow in Conwy.
It is a consequence of the gusts and downpours unleashed by Storm Bella that caused problems throughout the region during the Christmas weekend.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces overnight on Monday, especially where the rains are moving inland.
“Some of the rains will be winter and could produce 2 to 5 cm of snow above 250 meters …
“In other places, most places will see little to no snow, but it may cover a little more or less an inch in some places.”
