Several injured after two buses collide and collide with the Argos store

Several people were injured when two buses collided with each other before one hit an Argos store this afternoon (Wednesday) and narrowly missed dozens of shoppers.  One of the buses crashed into the store after the horrific accident on Upper Parliament Street in Nottingham city center at 4.10pm.

Several people were injured after two buses collided with each other before crashing into an Argos store in a busy city center.

One of the buses was said to be coming from George Street in Nottingham when it ran off the road and crashed into another traveling in a different direction. One of the buses went ahead and crashed into the store, a witness said.

They continued: ‘It was like something from an action movie. Many people were screaming and I could see blood from all the windows of the bus. It’s an absolute miracle that no one died. ‘

At least one passenger was taken from a bus on a stretcher, while several others were treated by paramedics at the scene.

It is unclear how many people were injured in the incident, but one of the bus drivers was confirmed to be among them.

Nottinghamshire Police said none of the injuries are believed to be “life threatening or disruptive”.

A spokesperson continued: ‘Officers were called shortly before 4.10pm for a report of a collision between two buses where one of the buses entered a store.

“Officers are currently on site managing traffic and establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the accident, but has since been reopened.

An Argos spokesperson said: ‘Our Parliament Street store is temporarily closed after an incident. We are supporting the police and will reopen as soon as we can. ‘
