Rylan Clark-Neal endorsed Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford after they were fired from This Morning.
Affectionately, the 32-year-old host called the duo his television mom and dad, urging that the couple deserved to achieve “every hit.”
This Morning has removed Ruth and Eamonn from their Friday jobs, replacing them with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
But Rylan didn’t shy away from supporting the pair after the shock shock.
He told The Daily Star: “Ruth and Eamonn are my mom and dad on TV, they have been from day one. They have been my biggest supporters in the entire industry …
“They’re still on vacation and things like that on This Morning, so it’s nice that we still see them there, but if it frees them up time to do other things, then I really hope so as they are really lovely people.”
Rylan praised the host couple as “genuinely decent people” who are “charming to everyone they meet.”
He added: “If my opinion is worth anything to anyone reading this, they are two of the most genuine decent people out there and they deserve all the success. They work hard and are charming to everyone they meet.”
The trio has grown closer as Rylan has worked on This Morning over the years.
Rylan also gave his best wishes to new hosts Alison and Dermot.
Earlier in the day, the new host duo shared their first official remarks when they took over as hosts on Friday.
Alison said in a statement: “I never dreamed that when I joined This Morning, initially for a few months, I would still be there 19 years later.
“I really care about the show and the viewers who watch it, so it’s a great privilege and honor to host a show that I love so much.”
“I’m really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot.”
X Factor’s Dermot added: “I am deeply excited and honored to join the This Morning team next year.
“We have huge shoes to fill and we are aware of the privilege of stepping on them.”
“Above all, we want to have fun and that you can start your weekend with a smile, especially considering the year we’ve all had.
“So I’m delighted to co-host the living incarnation of the sun on a rainy day. I can’t wait to start.”
* This morning airs Monday through Friday at 10 am on ITV.
