The Hollywood actor has been revealed as a potential new investor in Wrexham AFC, which currently plays in the fifth division of English football.

Wrexham is ready for more talks with Reynolds, star of Dead Pool, as well as American actor Rob McElhenney, best known for playing Mac in It’s always sunny in Philly – about his plans for the club.

The disclosure came after a Special General Meeting on Tuesday, with the Wrexham Supporters Trust (WST) confirming both names after 97.5 percent of 1,254 members voted to continue the talks.

WST added: “In due course, Mr. McElhenney and Mr. Reynolds will present their vision for Wrexham AFC and the proposal that members vote at a second Special General Meeting.”

Wrexham has been owned by fans since WST took over in 2011. “We own our soccer club,” its website says. “This is not a slogan, but a fact.”

He adds: “The club’s survival in recent years has been due to the fantastic support and loyalty our club has received from its fans and Trust members.”

Reynolds could become one of those members, with the Canadian evidently a fan of the sport having attended various soccer games while promoting. Deadpool 2 in 2018.

The 43-year-old was photographed at Real Madrid’s Bernabéu stadium with his co-star Josh Brolin.

“In the temple of Real Madrid,” he said on his Facebook page. “The two newest pets nervously await a beating. (For the record, my heart belongs to the Vancouver Whitecaps).”

Reynolds also attended RB Leipzig’s 6-2 victory at Hertha Berlin.
