Scottish international Ryan Fraser left Bournemouth after seven years in June
Newcastle has confirmed the signing of free agent Ryan Fraser to a five-year contract.
The 26-year-old Fraser joins former Bournemouth teammate Callum Wilson, who came to the club on a £ 20 million contract on Monday.
The pair are expected to join Norwich’s Jamal Lewis, with the left-back expected to undergo a medical examination at the club on Tuesday.
Scotland international Fraser has been a free agent since his contract with Bournemouth ended in June, when he opted not to sign an extension to play at Vitality Stadium following the restart of the Premier League season.

The Cherries were subsequently relegated and after being linked to moves to West Ham and Crystal Palace, Fraser had face-to-face discussions with Steve Bruce on Friday, ultimately deciding that his future lies in Tyneside.
Sky Sports News reported Wednesday that Newcastle had had initial talks with Fraser, but that personal terms had yet to be agreed upon, and that the winger was interested in moving northeast to be closer to his family in Aberdeen.
In a statement, Fraser said: “I’m absolutely thrilled about that – I went down to see the venue the other day and everything was just good; the manager, the venue, the fans, the messages I’ve been getting.
“It was a no-brainer, really, playing in such a big stadium with such passionate fans, and being back in the north is something important too.

“So I’m looking forward to it and I can’t wait to show everyone what I can do, help the team and help us get back to where we belong.”
Magpies boss Steve Bruce added: “I am delighted to bring Ryan to Newcastle United. We have avoided a lot of competition to get him signed and that says a lot about what this club has to offer.
“His skill and contributions on the pitch speak for themselves and I am looking forward to seeing him put to work in the Newcastle jersey.”
“He has wonderful chemistry on the field with Callum Wilson, which excites me, and I hope he will excite our fans before the new season.”

Fraser joined Bournemouth for £ 400,000 in January 2013 when they were a League One team, and during his time at the club the team rose twice as the Cherries reached the top flight for the first time in their history in 2015.
He went on to make 229 appearances during his six-and-a-half-year tenure at Vitality Stadium, scoring 30 goals for the club in that time, and previously attracted the interest of Arsenal.
Bournemouth also remains interested in a deal for former player Matt Ritchie, who signed a new contract with Newcastle in March, although the midfielder’s salaries can be a problem.
