Now the Mirror reports that the Prince’s closest and dearest are coming together in the midst of his current health crisis.

A source was quoted as saying: “The staff and the entire Royal Family are united in their prayers for the Duke.

“There has been a collective and all-powerful effort to keep him and the Queen safe during the coronavirus crisis for the past 11 months.”

However, the source added that there was “a significant change in mood as everyone began to find out that the Duke would not be coming home anytime soon.”

“Everyone’s thoughts are now firmly focused on him coming out of this disease,” added the source.

It comes as …

The Duke will be tested for his heart problem at the hospital, which is one of the nation’s leading specialty heart centers.

The Palace said: “The Duke of Edinburgh was transferred from King Edward VII Hospital to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as perform tests and observations for a pre-existing heart condition.

“The Duke is comfortable and responding to treatment, but is expected to remain in the hospital at least until the end of the week.”

Philip was photographed leaving London’s King Edward VII Clinic in an ambulance this morning as police watched his way.

A police van was used to protect the Duke from being photographed, while staff protected his road with umbrellas.

What is the Hospital de San Bartolomé?

The hospital, run by St Bart’s NHS Trust, was founded in 1123 in the City of London next to St Paul’s Cathedral.

He is a leading specialist in cardiovascular health and has cutting-edge treatments for a wide range of heart conditions.

The hospital’s cardiovascular unit covers a population of around six million people.

It includes ten theaters, ten catheterization labs, and more than 300 intensive, cardiac, and general care beds.

The NHS said the center aims to perform more heart surgeries, MRIs and CT scans than any other service in the world.

A specialized heart attack center provides dedicated emergency care 24 hours a day, with quick access to an experienced team and specialized equipment.

In January 2020, the service was ranked number one for survival rates from cardiac arrest in London, according to the NHS website.

The website says that St Bartholomew’s is Britain’s oldest hospital, and that it will celebrate its 900th birthday in 2023.

The hospital is also known for its fertility and cancer care services.

St Bart’s survived both the Great Fire of London and the Blitz and is now also a teaching hospital.

So far, Philip has spent a total of 13 nights being seen by doctors, his longest stay in the hospital.

Buckingham Palace previously said that the duke, who is just three months away from his 100th birthday, entered the hospital unassisted and received medical attention for an infection.

And in an update last Tuesday, the Palace said: “He is comfortable and responding to treatment, but he is not expected to leave the hospital for several days.”

The visit is Philip’s longest stay in the hospital since June 2013, when he underwent an exploratory operation on his abdomen.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan were urged last night to think about the poor prince and delay the broadcast of their much-heralded Oprah TV chat.

Two trailers promising real “shocking” revelations were released before the frail 99-year-old Duke was rushed to the hospital.

Last week, Prince Edward said that he had spoken to his father on the phone, that he was “looking forward to going out.”

He told Sky: “As far as I know, I spoke to them the other day, so it’s much better, thank you very much, and he’s really looking forward to going out, which is the most positive.

“So we keep our fingers crossed.”

When asked if Philip was frustrated about being in the hospital, Edward laughed and replied, “Just a little bit.

“I think that affects us all, and then you can only look at the clock so many times and the walls are so interesting.”

The Earl of Wessex added: “We have received some brilliant and lovely messages from all kinds of people and we really appreciate it and he too, I have been passing on them.

“It’s fantastic, thank you.”

Meanwhile, Prince Charles visited his father the weekend before, looking gloomy when he left.

It is understood that Charles wanted to visit his father due to his prolonged stay.

And it is believed that Charles had not seen his father since before Christmas due to coronavirus restrictions across the country.

Philip and the Queen stayed at Windsor Castle instead of celebrating the usual family Christmas at Sandringham.

Timeline of Philip’s hospital stay

Saturday February 20 – The Prince of Wales makes a 200-mile round trip to see his father, and spends about half an hour in the hospital.

Tuesday 23 February – Seven days after the duke’s admission, Palace says he is being treated for an infection and is “comfortable and responding to treatment” but is not expected to leave the hospital for several days.

The Earl of Wessex says the Duke is “much better” and is looking forward to getting out.

Monday March 1 – Philip is taken in an ambulance to St Bartholomew Hospital for treatment for an infection and tests and observation of a pre-existing heart disease, says Buckingham Palace.

The duke, who will turn 100 on June 10, was vaccinated against the coronavirus last month and his infection is not related to Covid.

Two years ago, Prince Philip was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The royal was also involved in a car accident in January 2019 after colliding with another vehicle near the Sandringham estate.

In April 2018, she underwent hip replacement surgery, but recovered well for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding a month later.

Felipe has previously been described as the “constant force” of the Queen and has been known as the “protector” of the Royal Family.

He has been by the queen’s side for seven decades of marriage, making him one of the hardest working royals.

Since 1952 he has attended 22,219 solo engagements and 637 tours abroad in a career marked by his famous mistakes.

He then retired from his public duties at the age of 96 in 2017 after 65 years of public life.

But despite retiring, the prince has remained active, sending a message to frontline workers in the face of the Covid outbreak thanking them for their work.

He also made a rare public appearance last year to hand over his role as Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles to Camilla Parker Bowles.

And Prince Harry reportedly recently called the Queen about Prince Philip’s health from his home in the US.
