Roy Keane launched a scathing attack on Manchester United after their boring 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

The former United captain, a seven-time Premier League title winner with the club, was furious after watching Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fall to a third loss in six games this season.

After attacking Harry Maguire and David de Gea earlier this year, Keane targeted the entire United team in a furious spiel.

He chose Marcus Rashford because of particularly strong criticism, while claiming that the current crop of players will end Solskjaer’s reign at Old Trafford soon enough.

“Where do you want me to start?” he said, after being asked to analyze United’s performance. “We talked before the game about being up front, being aggressive and showing quality… but where was he? Where was the quality?

“You are playing for Man United because you are expected to take down these teams, you are expected to run, you are expected to roll up your sleeves. That’s what playing for Manchester United is all about.

“Besides all that there was a lack of energy, enthusiasm, a real lack of quality and that really worried me in the second half when they were getting into half decent positions and chasing the game but (there was no) quality. Without composure.

“Some of the performances were really bad. Ole must be scratching his head.

“We keep talking after the Spurs game and if they turned a corner (after that game). It’s the longest corner in history. “

Keane directed his ire at Rashford, who has been receiving applause for his work on and off the court recently.

The young forward was recently named an MBE for his free school meals campaign, and scored a midweek hat-trick against RB Leipzig.

But Keane was furious with his performance against Arsenal.

“I watched Rashford closely today, who has received a lot of applause in recent months and is still a young man, but his body language was shocking, really shocking,” he said.

“He shrugged when things didn’t go his way. You roll up your sleeves at Manchester United. (When) things don’t go your way, that’s when you look at your leaders and characters.

“We talked about Nobby Stiles before the game, 5ft 6in, lionhearted.

“I don’t see him out there, I don’t see men out there, I don’t see men you want to be in the trenches with, guys you trust.

“I look at Ole in management, you have to trust your players on the field. If they trust those guys, God help us. “

Paul Pogba’s reckless defiance, leading to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty, was the defining moment in a match Arsenal deserved to win.

Keane refused to point to the Frenchman, insisting that the problem cut through the entire team and will ultimately cost Solskjaer his job.

He added: “Ole will lose his job working with these players, that’s what’s going to happen.

“Part of soccer is what you do without possession. United are not aggressive enough, they are not hungry. I don’t see it out there. I don’t see guys I want to be in trenches with. Guys you trust.

“I am very worried about Manchester United. There is a real lack of quality and (there is) a long, very long way back for this club.
