Parts of Cheshire have woken up to a blanket of snow this morning.
A yellow weather advisory for snow and ice has been issued in some parts of the region.
The Met Office has said that snow and ice today are expected to create potentially difficult driving conditions.
The warning will remain in place until 10 am on Tuesday (December 29).
A spokesperson for the Meteorological Office said: “Rain can turn to snow, which, along with widespread ice, will lead to the possibility of some disruptions to travel and utilities.”
“Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer travel times by road, bus and train.
“Some Slip and Fall Injuries on Icy Surfaces
“Probably some patches of ice on some untreated roads, sidewalks and bike lanes.”
Winter weather was causing some trouble on the region’s roads on Monday morning (December 28).
Two lanes on the M6 near Crewe were closed due to snow and a previous incident involving a jacknifed truck.
Meanwhile, there was a traffic queue at Kidsgrove as drivers struggled in the snow.
On the M56 westbound in Cheshire, there were reports of a blocked lane and slow traffic due to an accident at junction 7 A556 Chester Road ( Bowdon ) to exit 9 M6 J20 ( Lymm Exchange).
Traffic was also slow in the area due to snow.
There was also slow traffic due to snow in Knutsford on A50 Cliff Lane between A5033 Northwich Road (White Bear roundabout, Knutsford ) and M56 J9 ( Lymm Exchange, Lymm ).
