Roman Abramovich may regret Frank Lampard’s decision to fire as Thomas Tuchel reveals Tottenham’s dream

Roman Abramovich may regret having appointed Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea’s new manager.

The German strategist had been a free agent for as short a time as possible following the shocking news that he had been fired by Paris Saint-Germain, however, on Christmas Eve.

And Tuesday night it was announced that Tuchel had succeeded Frank Lampard at Chelsea after the Blues legend was fired less than 24 hours after a 3-1 win over Luton Town in the FA Cup.

And some Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to endorse the decision.

However, it is highly unlikely that the German’s past comments will sit too well with the fanbase and could make Abramovich regret having fired Lampard.

It seems that the former Borussia Dortmund manager has a soft spot for Tottenham.

Ahead of Dortmund’s Europa League round of 16 clash against Spurs in the 2015/16 season, Tuchel spoke highly of the North London team.

“When I was a child, in my garden, when I played [football] I always was [playing] as a Bundesliga team but there was a game where I played like Tottenham Hotspur because I really liked the name, ”he said.

“I didn’t have a photo and I didn’t know they were playing in London, so playing them on two legs was very special.

“What I didn’t know as a child is what I felt today and yesterday, that there are so many friendly people here.

“The coaching staff and the staff in the stadium and the dressing room and the benches, etc., it was incredible.
